Trees that are in danger of falling often times go unnoticed. There are a few reasons for this. During this time, signs of disease will be looked for and hopefully caught early in order to prevent it from spreading. However, if you notice that the lean is becoming worse, eventually the trunk is not going to be able to withstand the amount of weight being pushed on one side, so it's important to have an evaluation done at this point, as well and consider the removal of the tree. 
• Trunk is Splitting: If the trunk is splitting, this is a huge concern. At this point, the tree is too weak to hold up the weight of itself and will need to removed. This generally happens with age, so if you have an older tree, it's especially important to take note of this.
